Building Blocks For a Stronger Nation

TRUST

Let's say you've been working at the same place for 5 years then they hire a lot of new people who will be doing the same job as you. How would you react to this? If there's plenty of work and you have been feeling a little swamped, you might welcome and be happy about the new people joining the team. If there's only been enough work for you and now there's lot more people who need something to do, you might feel a little uneasy about their arrival. Throughout history we have seem many examples of one group of people disliking another and one factor that all these examples have in common is that both groups were living under a system that they could not completely trust, but rather than change the system they instead saw one another as a threat.

In a perfect world, our job status would be based on how dependable, hard working, honest and competent we are. If we're the type of person who always does their best, we should have nothing to worry about regarding the stability of our employment and this may be the case for some people, but unfortunately we don't live in a perfect world and there's no guarantee we'll always have a job even if we show up on time every day and do our best week in and week out. Anyone who works for a living knows this. We know this because money is the bottom line and there are too many variables that are beyond our control. The question is why? We're no longer living in caves fighting off lions, tigers and bears. We've conquered the natural world and have literally created our own world on top of it. Why in this world that we've created is there no guarantee that, even if we're honest and hard working, we will be ok?

How can we trust a world that operates like this? We can't. But, why? Because we're not creating it. Instead, we left it up to a select group of people to do this for us and it's turned out that they are not trustworthy. They are not dependable, hard working, honest and competent like us so who do we have to blame for leaving them in charge of such things? Live and learn. Going along with a system run on anything, but trustworthy values only makes the problem worse by making more untrustworthy people. That's not the direction we want to be going in. Those of us who actually work for a living know how to do things the right way and the most efficient way because we do it everyday. It's common sense. Even in a world that isn't trustworthy, getting things done in a timely manner still matters. Now, it's time to apply this same work ethic to where the real problem lies. Anyone who doesn't believe in hard work and honesty will quickly reveal themselves by opposing such change and then we'll know who to start with.

Trust is a beautiful thing when bestowed upon others who are trustworthy. The world we've created has become very complicated because we're now trusting the wrong kind of people to control it. Trust is not complicated. It's very simple and it takes one to know one. It's time to start trusting one another instead of a system that we cannot trust. We can create a better one. If there's plenty of work to go around, let's join together and get busy doing it. If all the work is done for now, let's celebrate together. Too many people are working day in and day out with no end in sight while others who haven't done any real work are celebrating. The party, both democrat and republican, is over. It's time to create a unified country made up of people who instead of creating fear between us create trust.
