Building Blocks For a Stronger Nation

Good vs Evil

Don't give up. Often when someone begins talking about ideas like love, peace and harmony, those opposing them will take on a cynical attitude asserting that people believing in such naive ideas are not being realistic because this is just not how the world works, but what they are really saying is that they have given up on believing in these things so they want others to give up as well. Their opposition to concepts even ones as good as love, peace and harmony is fueled by their attempt at control. The cynical people are right. This is not how the world works, but we made the world and it's time to make a better one.

At the heart of the matter, change is what the cynics fear the most because they have built their lives on this corrupt and wasteful world and the possibility of changing it even for the better is a threat to them. When a person gives up on believing in the good in the world, they are opting for control rather than happiness because they are fueled by fear. They do not want to jeopardize the sweet deal they have somehow managed to get for themselves in this dishonest world and there is no level they won't stoop to in order to keep it. This is very unhealthy behavior. It is better to see such people as mentally sick than rational and intelligent. They may even try to use reason to justify their behavior, but a truly intelligent person is not fueled by fear and can easily see that such negative behavior is not rational. It is merely an attempt at control by any means necessary.

"Doing the right thing" is an expression that most people are familiar with, but many have a hard time living according to because there seems to be a constant debate in our society over what "the right thing" is. What anyone who has given up on doing the right thing doesn't realize is that this decision is a personal one, not a political one. A person who truly believes in doing the right thing already knows how good it feels and knows how unhealthy it would be for them to rationalize doing anything that they know is wrong. Once a person's relationship with their heart and conscience is damaged or given up on, they may no longer even know the difference between right and wrong or good vs evil. The world to them becomes a giant mess of opposing ideas everyone picking sides that they think will benefit them the most. Right and wrong is not up for debate. The notion that it is has been promoted by those attempting to control others to go along with a corrupt system so that they can continue benefiting from this corruption. Granted, doing the right thing can be extremely inconvenient when attempted within a system that does not operate on such values and this is why the system needs to change, not the good people of the world. "If you can't beat them, join them" is not a solution. It is a form of giving up because a person thinks they are outnumbered. You are not outnumbered. There are much more good people in the world than bad. The bad have simply been better at organizing in order to benefit themselves. Because good people only need to rely on their own conscience to continue being who they are, this hasn't required them to join together. We have now reached a point in our history where it is time to unite our consciences and become organized as well. The giant advantage of having a conscience is that the mere existence of one already presupposes that there is something more important than selfish individual gain. It reflects that we are already connected to one another. Now, we simply need to acknowledge this outwardly. It is time to show the world who we are.
